Hort Americas was notified the week before Christmas that the Philips GreenPower LED Production Module and LED Flowering Lamp received the UL Certification for the 110v versions.
We have also posted two new articles on our blog. The first one is Hydroponic Lettuce Production in Phenolic Foarm (Oasis) by David Kuack and Vijay Rapaka. And the second one is Seed Germination Using LEDs by Johann Buck and David Kuack.
Both Articles are drawing alot of traffic and are worth the read.
Lastly, Hort Americas would like to let our customers and followers know about our relationship with David Kuack. Starting in December 2011, David will be helping Hort Americas with all technical writing and educational projects, which include papers, educational videos, newsletters and blog posts.
For those that do not know David, let us give you a little bit of his background. David received a Masters of Science in Horticulture from Ohio State University in 1983. He then spent the next 26 years as either the Managing Editor or Editor-in-Chief for two of the most recognized trade publications in the commercial horticulture industry. David has an award winning and very technical writing style that greenhouse growers count on. Welcome to the team David!

Recent History
The Summer has been usually busy for Hort Americas. We are happy to say that the Greenhouse Vegetable Industry, as well as the Commercial Greenhouse Industry in North America continues to be strong. Especially for those that continue to push traditional "boundaries" and are looking to re-invent themselves.
Hort Americas continues to focus on change. This includes increasing our product offering, our stock levels, our access to new technologies and our ability to service North American Growers. Our greatest strides have come in the area of new artifical lighting technologies (specifically LEDs) for the industry.
